Allison Boulton is the Program Manager of the Export Navigator pilot.
After living in China and the Middle East for three years, Allison returned to Vancouver to work as an International Trade Advisor with Small Business BC, and started her own firm assisting entrepreneurs grow globally. While abroad, she completed her MBA and worked as the China Director of Marketing and Trade Sales with an importer and distributor of North American beverages. Prior to moving overseas, Allison was the Director of Operations for a boutique Canadian winery with exports to over 20 countries.
Her enthusiasm for travel and for understanding how people live around the world has led her to explore over 30 countries. She uses this experience to help clients understand, not only the regulations of international trade, but also the country's cultural differences that are so vital for businesses looking to succeed in the global marketplace.
Amy has been a Business Advisor at Small Business BC for over 15 years. Specializing in general business advising, corporate registry services, tax requirements and industry-specific regulations, she uses her wealth of experience to help clients gain access to the relevant information, appropriate tools and resources they need to achieve a successful and sustainable business. Amy is the Ask the Expert program manager at Small Business BC. Amy operates her own part time specialty cake bakery business.
Audrey Bai is the Program Coordinator for Export Navigator. Export Navigator, funded by the Province and administered by Small Business BC, offers businesses free access to community-based export specialists. Audrey has extensive experience working in non-profits, from leading and supporting projects in primary care and mental health, to working and volunteering at summer camps, to coordinating and developing research on apps. She applies her diverse experience to coordinate marketing, seminars, outreach, reporting and more for Export Navigator.
Born and raised on the west coast, she recently moved to Vancouver from Victoria and is excited to continue exploring local businesses around the province.
Belinda is a Trade Advisor at Small Business BC. She has successfully launched several businesses ranging from selling online to trading internationally, shipping to every continent in the world with the exception of Antarctica.
Having worked in strategic analysis, marketing, and international trade, she utilizes her experience in assisting clients through the process of starting and growing their business at Small Business BC.
Bridget Field is the Client Services Manager at Small Business BC. A graduate of the UBC Sales and Marketing Management Executives Program, she has over 20 years’ experience in retail management, sales and marketing. Bridget shares her expertise with clients at Small Business BC as well as teaching business courses for local community colleges.
Connie Miao is an Education Coordinator at Small Business BC. Coming from a background involving university education programs and alumni relations, she applies her experience in the Education Centre to coordinate and develop new content relevant to small business communities across the province of BC. She holds a BCom with a specialization in Marketing Co-op from the Sauder School of Business and hopes to become an entrepreneur one day.
Curtis Wong is Small Business BC's Business Development and Sponsorship Manager. He is a revenue and bottom line focused business developer and marketer in hospitality, food & beverage and the performing arts, who strives to create strategic B2B alliances to differentiate market position, operate more efficiently and address pan organizational challenges – a problem solving, agent of change.
An entrepreneur fueled by curiosity of business models, he's motivated by the desire to break traditional methods of sales and marketing and the overall customer experience.
Dylan Hrycyshen is a start-up advisor and entrepreneur with a passion for technology, social enterprise and sustainable design. Dylan loves big ideas and the passion that fuels small business.
As a Business Advisor, Dylan uses his community development experience to foster the relationships that accelerate business skill training.
Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Eyren moved to Vancouver in 2009 to experience a new city, further his education, and enjoy the west coast that he heard so much about while growing up. As Small Business BC’s Events Coordinator and resident event expert, Eyren has produced hundreds of events throughout his school and professional endeavours. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus on Marketing Management from Langara College and a Digital Media Design diploma from LaSalle College International Vancouver.
Gary has been a part of Small Business BC for over twenty years. Currently, as a Business Advisor, he advises clients on all aspects of business start-up including registration, licencing, sales tax registration, workers compensation coverage, business insurance and industry specific regulatory requirements. Gary has first-hand knowledge of what it takes to successfully start, run and sell a business, having operated his own coffee shop business, in Kitsilano, over a span of 6 years. Given this experience, he is able to provide clients with very practical insights during one-on-one consultations. In particular, he is able to advise on financial and operational aspects of clients business strategies that they often overlook.
Gideon is a Business Services Consultant at Small Business BC. He is currently attending Simon Fraser University’s Beedie School of Business and is completing a joint major in Marketing and Economics. He is on an eight month co-op here at Small Business BC and is excited to learn from his colleagues and the numerous entrepreneurs that he is exposed to on a daily basis.
Jayme is a Business Advisor at Small Business BC. She advises clients on their business start-ups, providing them with relevant information and directing them to useful resources Jayme is a graduate of the Bachelors of Business Administration, Marketing Management program at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. She also has experience launching her own online-based business. Jayme has contributed as a writer on the Small Business BC website and presents the popular Start Smart seminar, on a monthly basis.
Jayme also spearheaded the launch of the Small Business BC Meetup Group which has successfully grown to over 2,000 members in just over 2 years. Jayme regularly participates in outreach events and presentations on behalf of Small Business BC.
Josh Ludgate is the VP of Operations at Small Business BC. He has a background in leading and building technology and telecom start-ups in Vancouver, as well as international roles with Hewlett Packard Financial Services. He applies his diverse and extensive business experience to help clients successfully plan and grow their business.
Kirsten holds a BBA from Thompson Rivers University with a major in Human Resources. A Chartered Professional in Human Resources, her career backgroun is in municipal government.
Kirsten has previously worked for the City of Kamloops and City of Vancouver.
Laura Aveledo is the Business Planning and International Trade Advisor. Laura takes her clients on a “business planning journey” which includes research, evaluation and development of business strategies and defining actions to encourage business growth.
Leo Chow is the Education Services Manager at Small Business BC. He is a nonprofit sector professional with over a dozen years of experience that spans many boundaries, including immigrant employment, wage subsidy grants, community health, academic assistance for inner-city students and more.
Mark is a Market Research Analyst and has worked at Small Business BC for over 25 years. He specializes in helping clients with market research.
Roop Johal moved from England to Canada in 2009. She studied at Lordswood and Kwantlen Polytechnic University before proceeding to work in the event production industry for several years. Enamored with the greenery and beautiful mountain views of the west coast, immigrating to Vancouver, British Columbia was a natural fit. With her passion for production management and community engagement, she has built several small and large scale events in both the private and public sectors.
Sara Clark is the VP of Strategic Projects at Small Business BC, currently overseeing a number of special programs and government initiatives. In addition to her previous SBBC role as the Director of Marketing, she holds a Certificate in Advanced Project Management, a diploma in Marketing Management and a Bachelor's degree from the University of British Columbia. Sara also contributes as an Advisory Board Member for the Langara College School of Management.
Tuan Pham is a Business Consultant at Small Business BC. He studied Business Administration at Capilano University before embarking on an eclectic career in hospitality, travel, sales, and the non-profit sector in Cambodia and the Philippines.
