He is passionate about helping small business owners succeed, and he has worked in both the public and financial sectors, gaining valuable insights into the workings of different industries.
A native of Dublin, Ireland, Darren has an extensive background in journalism and content creation that stretches back over a decade. He has worked at Small Business BC since August 2017.
In his position as Digital Content and Website Manager he oversees the upkeep of the SBBC and SBBC Awards website, writing articles, developing relationships with external bloggers, and collaborating with industry experts on articles of interest to the SBBC community.
Dylan is a Business Planning Advisor and Strategy Coach, helping entrepreneurs launch and grow successful ventures from the ground up. From technology to social enterprise, he aligns purpose with profit adding creative strategy and practical advice through all stages of the business journey. An intrapreneur for SBBC’s special programs, he has led initiatives to strengthen BC’s business community like the BC Business Covid Support Service and BC Marketplace.
Felicia is a Marketing and Communications Assistant at Small Business BC, mainly working on the Export Navigator team. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2020. Prior to graduating, she has held internships in digital marketing, journalism, and corporate communications.
She looks forward to learning more about the vibrant small business community in BC and to support her team in expanding the Export Navigator program.
Gary has been a part of Small Business BC for over twenty years. Currently, as a Business Advisor, he advises clients on all aspects of business start-up including registration, licencing, sales tax registration, workers compensation coverage, business insurance and industry specific regulatory requirements. Gary has first-hand knowledge of what it takes to successfully start, run and sell a business, having operated his own coffee shop business, in Kitsilano, over a span of 6 years. Given this experience, he is able to provide clients with very practical insights during one-on-one consultations. In particular, he is able to advise on financial and operational aspects of clients business strategies that they often overlook.
Jayme is a Business Systems Analyst at Small Business BC. She is a graduate of the Bachelors of Business Administration, Marketing Management program at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. She has also completed the Data Analytics certificate program at BrainStation. Jayme has worked in several different roles at Small Business BC including Business Services Consultant and Education Coordinator and most recently Business Advisor. In her current role, she analyzes the organization's systems and processes to improve operational efficiency.
Jayme has spearheaded several projects at Small Business BC including the launch of the Small Business BC Meetup Group and most recently the new website redesign. She loves working for an organization that supports entrepreneurs in reaching their goals.

Having worked on entrepreneurship programs both in Canada and Abroad he has worked with a wide variety of businesses. He uses this experience to help his clients with all aspects of their business idea, helping them to develop a business plan that will guide their business through startup and growth.
Josh Ludgate is the Chief Operations Officer at Small Business BC. He has a background in leading and building technology and telecom start-ups in Vancouver, as well as international roles with Hewlett Packard Financial Services. He applies his diverse and extensive business experience to help clients successfully plan and grow their business.
Leo Chow is the Internal Program Manager at Small Business BC. He is a nonprofit sector professional with over fifteen years of experience spanning various areas including education, government grants, immigrant settlement, community health, and more.
Mark is the Market Research Analyst at Small Business BC. He teaches both primary and secondary market research techniques, guest lectures on market research, and provides market research coaching for small businesses.
Nicole is the Business Development & Marketing Coordinator at Small Business BC. Growing up, Nicole has always loved helping people, so it was a natural transition for her to work in the non-profit industry upon her graduation from UBC with a Bachelor of Commerce.
Nixon is a Business Advisor who advises clients on the initial steps to starting a business, and assists with general business inquiries. He is a graduate of the Bachelors of Business Administration program at the Beedie School of Business, with a degree concentrating in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Marketing.
Paola is the Digital Marketing Coordinator at Small Business BC. Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, Paola came to Canada to study digital marketing and to have a new experience abroad. She fell in love with Vancouver and decided to give it a try. She has more than fifteen years of experience in marketing, gravitating towards public service back in Colombia, and non-profits in Canada. As a marketing specialist, her focus is on social and cultural causes. Paola helps entrepreneurs and small businesses become more visible from a digital perspective and supports SBCC with all of our digital campaigns and promotions.
With several years of experience in community engagement, sponsorship, and stakeholder relationship management, Roop looks to actively improve and provide business excellence in business development and partner relations. She has a deep commitment to serve the community and is passionate about business.
Sara Clark is the VP of Strategic Projects at Small Business BC, currently overseeing a number of special programs and government initiatives. In addition to previous roles such as the VP and Director of Marketing, she holds a Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certification, a diploma in Marketing Management and a Bachelor's degree from the University of British Columbia. Sara participates in various small business and economic development focused groups and committees, including the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association’s (DVBIA) Policy Advisory Council.
Sarah is from Vancouver, BC, and is a graduate of UBC and SFU. She uses her versatile background encompassing journalism, marketing, and public relations to help inform SBBC’s community about the latest updates for business owners.

She was most recently a Business Advisor at the Women's Enterprise Centre of Manitoba (WECM), contributing to their community for three years. She has launched over a dozen restaurants in Manitoba and Ontario including the branding, operations, and franchise development of Za Pizza Bistro. As a solopreneur, Yvonne has successfully pivoted her fitness business of 10 years, Yvonne’s Fitness where she markets and teaches virtual fitness classes to clients from around the world. She has an International MBA specializing in Marketing and Finance from York University and worked in China as the General Manager for the Canada China Business Council as well as the Director of Membership and Business Services in Toronto. As a Business Plan Advisor at SBBC, Yvonne brings a unique perspective on running a business.
