Iva Jankovic

SBBC Board of Directors

Iva Jankovic (she/they) is a first generation immigrant who came to Canada from the former Yugoslavia as a child in 2002. Iva was raised on the unceded ancestral lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, where she became involved in entrepreneurship and community organizing from a young age.

Iva's career has been largely as a business developer working in the BC co-operative sector, with worker co-operatives and among newcomer communities. She has co-founded and helped to start numerous co-operative enterprises, including a translators/interpreters co-op (CultureLinks.coop), an overdose response technology co-op (Brave.coop), a digital tooling commons for small businesses and grassroots organizations (BuddyUp.coop), and an electric bike sharing co-operative (FreeRiders).

Iva brings to the table diverse perspectives and relationships as a young, queer, immigrant woman, as well as skills in design, business development, management, and community organizing.
