Free Workplace Mental Health Training Available for Small Business Leaders in BC

A new, free workplace mental health training is available for small business leaders in BC.

Resilient Leadership – Enhancing Workplace Mental Health was developed in partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association, BC Division (CMHA BC) and the Centre for Mindfulness Studies, and supported by the Province of BC.

Supporting Mental Health in the Workplace

Leadership in the workplace plays a huge role in supporting mental health. According to the Workforce Institute’s 2023 report, a survey of 3,400 employees found that 51% of employees feel their managers have a greater impact on their mental health than their doctors, and 68% of employees would like their managers to do more to support their mental health

By learning how to support mental health in the workplace and reflecting on their own mental health, participants will take action to create a more inclusive, happier, and healthier workplace.

Who is this Training For?

The training was designed specifically for managers, supervisors, and people leaders in small to medium-sized businesses across BC. Participants will be equipped with skills to create psychologically safe and healthy workplaces.

In this training, you will be introduced to mindfulness practices and practical tools. This evidence-based approach will help build resilience, improve self-care, and enhance communication and leadership skills. Resilient individuals can stay strong and bounce back from setbacks, whether from workplace demands, leadership challenges, or personal stressors.

This training is a good fit for you if you want to learn how to effectively address workplace challenges that employees experience due to mental health or mental illness.
