North Vancouver, Mainland/Southwest

As an artist and outdoor enthusiast I was inspired to make a design to show my love for the NorthShore. It's an incredible place to live and I thought others might like a reminder of the shore or to show their love for where they live. I specifically chose premium apparel and have my designs printed in North Vancouver. It's apparel you can live, play and adventure in! If you seek fresh air or fresh tracks join us and #finditoutside.

Business Impact Award

Tell Us Your Story. What motivated you to start your business? Why are you passionate about what you do?

I've always been a creative type and I love to be outside. Living in North Vancouver is incredibly inspiring and I wanted to show my love for where I live by making a design and wearing it! I studied drawing, painting and photography in University and am an art teacher. But my love is creating and enjoying the outdoors. All of my work is original, created by hand, with pencil and paper or paint and paint brush!

Describe and demonstrate, including metrics, your community support. How do you support and uplift your community, and how do they show that support in return? Minimum 25 words, maximum 2500 characters.

My community support has always been through my kids and schools. I love to help in the classroom with art projects, hot lunches and field trips. I also organized and volunteered for a trip for my sons class for the writers fest at Granville Island. I help out with their sports and volunteered with their teams. Making opportunities possible for kids is incredibly important to me. Supporting other small businesses is my other top priority. I love finding other small businesses, buying their art and jewelry, chatting with them and just being a part of the very cool small business community.

Why do you deserve to win the Business Impact award?

I think I deserve to win because although I'm small originality and creativity count for a lot. Also selling quality apparel, (that lasts, does not shrink, does not pill) is hugely important. I am all for having a t-shirt last a ridiculously long time. I am not in favour of fast fashion and am aware of the impact the fashion industry has on the environment.

Tell Us About Your Culture. How are you creating a sustainable and healthy workplace where everyone feels welcome? Provide examples of leadership you show in interactions with clients, vendors, contractors, staff and others.

I try to always be friendly and kind to people and to follow the rules. I love to provide good service and offer that little bit more to make sure people feel like they've had a good experience with my brand.

People's Choice

Why do you think you should win the Premier’s People’s Choice Award?

I think I should win because there's really nothing like my brand out there. I'm a small business but an original one. My designs are hand drawn and original, completely unique. I love the idea of finding something local and unique.
