Tell Us Your Story. What motivated you to start your business? Why are you passionate about what you do?

As a female immigrant from Kazakhstan who is very passionate about street styles, my dream was to create a space for kids where they can feel that they belong and can freely express themselves through the art of dance. I opened Next Move Dance in February 2020, and of course as any entrepreneur and business owner I had to adapt to Covid-19 restrictions and rules. I started teaching classes online which helped to identify kids mental needs and shape a vision for the studio. Despite all the challenges being new studio, going through lockdowns, adjusting to a new restrictions studio has become a valuable asset for a lot of families in Burnaby area. Next Move Dance is dedicated to provide four most important values: discipline, strong street styles foundation, mentorship and Beyond Dance and provide street style training on Olympic level. We believe that providing those values will lead to nurturing mentally and physically kids who are ready to take responsibility for their future. We are dedicated not only nurture successful dancers but a champions of life. We believe that Beyond Dance value, that provides mental guidance from our mentors, helps our students to succeed in other areas of life. Every month our mentors exploring different topic on top of dance training such as discipline, focus, self expression and etc. We see a tremendous change in our students person and dance growth. We see how much parents appreciate and support us during this journey. All of these things keeps us motivated and passionate about our business. Recently we signed our first Olympian advisor Scott Morgan who presented Canada in the 2016 Summer Olympics held in Rio de Janeiro. He mentors not only Next Move Dance students, but also our teachers. Next Move Dance is also working on a partnerships with other Olympic level sports program to be able providing Olympic mentality for our dancers. We believe that nurturing the future of our country is huge responsibility, and we are passionate and dedicated to provide the best values for the students we are guiding.

During the 2020 pandemic Next Move Dance had opened its doors for the kids in the neighbourhood who were drowning in usage of electronic devices and social media platforms. Since then we have worked with more than 200 families from Burnaby, Tri Cities, Langley and Maple Ridge. Our community of kids and parents are always involved in street styles dance community events, competitions and studio events. We are 5 stars google review studio that shows how much our community supports and appreciate what we are doing. Our students are showing very high results on competitions despite little experience they have. They are super excited to come to class to dance with their friends and mentors, and this is a biggest support they can provide for us!

Tell Us About Your Culture. How are you creating a sustainable and healthy workplace where everyone feels welcome? Provide examples of leadership you show in interactions with clients, vendors, contractors, staff and others.

Next Move Dance is dedicated to provide four most important values: discipline, strong street styles foundation, mentorship and Beyond Dance and provide street style training on Olympic level. Our vision is to become a number one Olympic level street style dance studio in Canada. Our mentors are instructed and trained in making sure that every student and parent feel that they are welcomed by introducing them to other members of the studio, organizing studio events such as Open house, Winter Holiday party, Mommy`s Appreciation Night, Season End Party and etc. During these events our students and families are able to get to know our mentors and other families to feel more comfortable and connected. Personally as a studio owner I always make sure to provide personal touch in interacting with our families. Putting all of these things together we are able to provide connection, right expectation about our studio and involvement in Next Move Dance community
