Tell Us Your Story. What motivated you to start your business? Why are you passionate about what you do?

Jenna Robins started Trilogy Solutions when trying to find the balance between having a career and being a parent. Feeling she wasn’t able to give one hundred percent to either, she decided being self-employed was the only option. Starting small and reaching out to other parent friends, Jenna realized that they all had a similar desire to want to be a part of building something amazing, but also having the flexibility to be as present as they could as their children grew. Slowly Trilogy Solutions started to take on more projects, and Jenna realized her need for more incredible women to help build this brand. Our passion stems from the motivation of watching other small- to medium-sized businesses succeed. By providing custom websites, hashtag research, digital marketing packages, and monthly maintenance of websites, we aim to help simplify the digital presences of businesses and allow entrepreneurs to focus on why they started their business and work on their business instead of in it.

Describe and demonstrate, including metrics, your community support. How do you support and uplift your community, and how do they show that support in return? Minimum 25 words, maximum 2500 characters.

In 2022, we donated over $20k of services to participants of Shuswap Launch-a-preneur, an entrepreneurial competition where they assist individuals and teams to successfully plan and launch a business in the Shuswap. Our founder, Jenna, sits on the Literacy Alliance of the Shuswap Society board and LASS Spelling Bee Committee. The Literacy Alliance promotes literacy throughout the North Okanagan-Shuswap via awareness, collaborative partnerships and education. Jenna is also a member of three Chambers of Commerce, Langley, Abbotsford, and Salmon Arm, and is a member of the Rotary Club of Salmon Arm and sits on the Board of Directors for hOurspace, which is a co-workspace that fosters creativity and community, promoting co-share workspaces. She sits on the Board of Directors for the Salmon Arm Chamber of Commerce, to promote the further education and support of local businesses. Trilogy Solutions continues to partner with the Salmon Arm Economic Society to run the “BIG Connect”, where we teach small businesses about digital marketing, social media trends and make/maintain our small business connections. We are so lucky to live in a community that truly embodies one of our favorite things: community over competition. We have continued to scale quickly to help support all of these amazing businesses, which in turn allows us to hire more amazing, local people. This in itself really shows how much the Okanagan/Shuswap area supports our little business with a big heart.

Why do you deserve to win the Business Impact award?

Any business, large or small, will tell you that a business’s success is based on the revenue for the quarter, the year, or the decade, and while it is important, money isn’t everything. Trilogy Solutions’ is known for our meaningful impact in multiple communities across BC. We donate our time and services to help other businesses succeed and to local programs focused on bettering our communities through resource availability and growth/development. Winning a Business Impact Award would be a big step in us being able to reach even more communities, businesses, and individuals who could use our services or need help. We believe that we have not succeeded as a company unless all those around us have as well, and our desire as a company is to continue to make an even bigger impact as we continue to grow. We’re trying to break the mold in regards to the age old adage that ‘tech is scary’ so you absolutely must hire an expensive firm to put you on the map. We believe by educating local businesses through our community partnerships we’re reaching a broader community which then correlates with increased conversions, engagement and business practices, all supporting the communities we live in.

Tell Us About Your Culture. How are you creating a sustainable and healthy workplace where everyone feels welcome? Provide examples of leadership you show in interactions with clients, vendors, contractors, staff and others.

Trilogy Solutions is a 100% female owned and operated small business, and our entire managing staff are also female. While this may not mean a lot to some, as we are in a predominantly male field of work, it means a lot to us and our company. This also helps set the base-level of our culture, we thrive on open communication, mutual respect, any chance for collaboration - and sharing funny memes - all in a learning-centric environment. We actively sought team members wanting to work remotely and towards the greater goal of doing work that really matters. Working remotely allows us to create a work environment where employees can choose where, how and when they work and gives them ample time to prioritize their outside of work lives. By adapting this model, we have created a space for boundaries to be set with respect to an employee’s time, workload, and communication, while also supporting the concept that our work lives must actively support our personal lives. Jenna, our founder, believes that if you put kindness and generosity into your environment, you will receive it back, and that is how she leads everyone at Trilogy Solutions. Mutual respect for each other’s time and open communication on all fronts are major pillars within our business. This transfers over to our relationships with clients, as we want everyone to succeed and continually engage and support open dialogue which simplest the path to success, whatever that may mean to the businesses we have the opportunity to work with.
