What is it you do at True Calling Media?
True Calling Media tells stories of people who love what they do. We’re on a mission to tell positive, cool stories because we feel it’s a good time for positivity. Good stories don’t get told enough these days and the world needs some good news.
What’s the process like when you shoot video with a subject?
When we shoot with a subject, we really like to dig into their past and find out about the journey they’ve been on. We’ve found that it’s rarely ever a straight line. We love getting to know how people got to their happy place and it’s usually a very interesting story to tell.
What are some of your favourite projects you’ve worked on?
We’re pretty excited about our recently completed documentary we co-produced with our sister company, Pink Buffalo Films. It’s a really cool story about Sam Danniels called Beyond the Peak.
We’ve produced over 180 of these True Calling stories so it’s hard to pick favourites. I am partial to one we shot up in the Arctic Circle called Heart of the Arctic. Kylik is a really cool guy and he shared with us a really cool way of living.

Video is a crucial part of how you tell your story and it’s becoming more and more expected nowadays. I know its cliché but content is king, and video is one of the most important forms of content.
