Newcomers to Canada

If you’re a recent arrival to Canada, welcome! We’re a proudly multicultural country and your presence here adds to the colour and personality that makes our country great.

We may be biased, but British Columbia is an incredible place to live, work and play. It’s also Canada’s home for entrepreneurship, with small businesses making up 98 per cent of all businesses in our province. Many of these small businesses are owned and operated by newcomers to Canada, with over 11 per cent of immigrants aged 25 to 69 owning their own small business.

If you’re thinking of starting your own business, Small Business BC is here to help. We’re BC’s premier resource centre for entrepreneurs, and we’ve got the supports and expertise you need to get started.
