Anthony is a Business Advisor at Small Business BC. He has a degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Management Information Systems. He is passionate about helping small business owners thrive and brings a diverse background in both the public and financial sectors, providing valuable insights into a variety of industries. Courtney Apps is the Marketing & Communications Coordinator at SBBC.  She is a graduate of UBC and SFU and uses her varied background to implement marketing initiatives that support BC's entrepreneurs. Courtney is also the owner of Upstream Digital, which specializes in web design, branding, and social media for small business.

Darren Dunne

A native of Dublin, Ireland, Darren has an extensive background in journalism and content creation that stretches back over a decade. He has worked at Small Business BC since August 2017.

In his position as Digital Content and Website Manager he oversees the upkeep of the SBBC and SBBC Awards website, writing articles, developing relationships with external bloggers, and collaborating with industry experts on articles of interest to the SBBC community.

Dylan Young

Dylan is a Business Planning Advisor and Strategy Coach, helping entrepreneurs launch and grow successful ventures from the ground up. From technology to social enterprise, he aligns purpose with profit adding creative strategy and practical advice through all stages of the business journey. An intrapreneur for SBBC’s special programs, he has led initiatives to strengthen BC’s business community like the BC Business Covid Support Service and BC Marketplace.

Gary Webb

Gary has been a part of Small Business BC for over twenty years. Currently, as a Business Advisor, he advises clients on all aspects of business start-up including registration, licencing, sales tax registration, workers compensation coverage, business insurance and industry specific regulatory requirements. Gary has first-hand knowledge of what it takes to successfully start, run and sell a business, having operated his own coffee shop business, in Kitsilano, over a span of 6 years. Given this experience, he is able to provide clients with very practical insights during one-on-one consultations. In particular, he is able to advise on financial and operational aspects of clients business strategies that they often overlook.

Jason Negin

Jason Negin is the Business Development Relationship Manager at Small Business BC. As a former business owner, Jason also brings over 15 years of expertise in business development and building impactful partnerships.

Jayme Canotal

Jayme is a Business Systems Analyst at Small Business BC. She is a graduate of the Bachelors of Business Administration, Marketing Management program at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. She has also completed the Data Analytics certificate program at BrainStation. Jayme has worked in several different roles at Small Business BC including Business Services Consultant and Education Coordinator and most recently Business Advisor. In her current role, she analyzes the organization's systems and processes to improve operational efficiency.

Jayme has spearheaded several projects at Small Business BC including the launch of the Small Business BC Meetup Group and most recently the new website redesign. She loves working for an organization that supports entrepreneurs in reaching their goals.

John Baxter

John Baxter is the Regional Business Advisor for Vancouver Island. He has a Bachelor of Mathematics and Business Administration and a Masters of International Development. Having worked on entrepreneurship programs both in Canada and Abroad he has worked with a wide variety of businesses. He uses this experience to help his clients with all aspects of their business idea, helping them to develop a business plan that will guide their business through startup and growth.

Josie Breuls

Josie Breuls is a Vancouver-based graphic designer specializing in accessibility design. In 2022, she completed her bachelor’s degree in Communication Design from Emily Carr University of Art & Design, where she honed her creativity and design skills. With a strong background in acrylic painting and experience working for art advisory companies, Josie brings a unique perspective to her graphic design projects. Currently, she is applying her expertise as a designer at Small Business BC. When not designing, she finds joy in sewing and exploring nature through hiking.

Leo Chow is the Internal Program Manager at Small Business BC. He is a nonprofit sector professional with over fifteen years of experience spanning various areas including education, government grants, immigrant settlement, community health, and more. Leo currently manages our Workplace Accessibility Resources program.

Mark Eversfield

Mark is the Market Research Analyst at Small Business BC. He teaches both primary and secondary market research techniques, guest lectures on market research, and provides market research coaching for small businesses.

Paola Acero

Paola is the Digital Marketing Coordinator at Small Business BC. Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, Paola came to Canada to study digital marketing and to have a new experience abroad. She fell in love with Vancouver and decided to give it a try. She has more than fifteen years of experience in marketing, gravitating towards public service back in Colombia, and non-profits in Canada. As a marketing specialist, her focus is on social and cultural causes. Paola helps entrepreneurs and small businesses become  more visible from a digital perspective and supports SBCC with all of our digital campaigns and promotions.

Sara Clark

Sara Clark

Sara Clark is the VP of Strategic Projects at Small Business BC, currently overseeing a number of special programs and government initiatives. In addition to previous roles such as the VP and Director of Marketing, she holds a Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certification, a diploma in Marketing Management and a Bachelor's degree from the University of British Columbia. Sara participates in various small business and economic development focused groups and committees, including the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association’s (DVBIA) Policy Advisory Council.

Sarah Anderson

Sarah is from Vancouver, BC, and is a graduate of UBC and SFU. She uses her versatile background encompassing journalism, marketing, and public relations to help inform SBBC’s community about the latest updates for business owners.

Sarah is also a small business owner herself, running Mystic Rose Tarot Co., a tarot reading service for events in Metro Vancouver. With a passion for both her work at SBBC and her thriving soloprenuer venture, Sarah brings a unique blend of skills and experiences to her diverse roles.

Shubhangi Jain

Shubhangi Jain is a driven HR professional with over six years of experience in Human Resource, Operations and Finance management. She finds joy in enhancing performance and operations by analyzing existing processes and creating/implementing effective systems, strategies, policies, and procedures. Shubhangi is truly passionate about supporting small and local business success through effective talent and HR management.

Steven is a Business Advisor at Small Business BC. He is pursuing a degree in Psychology and Business from the University of British Columbia. Through his experience with SBBC and previous roles in sales and customer service, Steven is well-equipped to support clients on their journey to becoming a small business owner.
