With the ever-changing small business landscape, we’re always seeking new contributors to share their valuable insights and write for us on the Small Business BC website.

What You Receive
- Author byline and contributor page – When you write an article for us, we create a contributor page for you on our website. This page has space for a short bio, a photo, and can include links to your personal website and social media.
- Our audience – Each year, the Small Business BC website receives millions of visits from our nationwide audience interested in entrepreneurship.
- Our Following – Articles and blogs published on the Small Business BC website are shared with our strong social media following, helping grow awareness of your business with our engaged audience.
Our Blog Guidelines
For the purposes of our Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and yours, we insist that all content written for Small Business BC is original and unique to our website. Ideally, your blog post would be based on personal business experiences and provide helpful information for entrepreneurs to apply to their own businesses. The focus should always be on offering educational content for the reader in a friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable manner.
Please note: While the blog is meant to express real-life experiences, content should be informative and relevant to the small business community in BC, as SBBC is a business resource centre.
Content Guidelines:
The content we’re looking for should follow these guidelines:
- Written in first person, using active voice.
- Aims to write with a tone that is friendly, professional, and inclusive.
- Includes clear, purposeful, and educational information relevant to entrepreneurs and small businesses.
- Uses plain language.
- Uses examples when suitable.
- Between 300-600 words.
- Uses subheadings to break up content.
- Uses short paragraphs and bullet points.
- Is unique to Small Business BC.
- Doesn’t include the promotion, direct sale, endorsement, or links back to a specific product, service, or business.
