Kelly McBain is a Senior Product Manager of Business Solutions at Moneris. She is a passionate product professional specializing in innovative online and mobile payment systems.  Kelly is always looking at how technical innovation can help solve business problems in the online and mobile space with her keen sense for business needs and creative mind.

Kelly has over 20 years in the payment industry having worked in a variety of areas including sales, operations, audit, project management and now more recently leading a team of driven product managers while managing products of her own.

Prior to working in the payments industry, she worked in the financial sector in fraud and telephony.  She holds a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) designation, is Scrum Master Certified and has completed many courses with Pragmatic Marketing (Foundations, Focus, Marketing).

Kelly Walker is the President of Uniserve Communications. He has worked with a large number of multi-sized organizations in architecting, developing and supporting their technical infrastructure and strategic digital transformations. A highly experienced technical executive, driven to provide unique, cutting edge solutions to complex business requirements, helping to educate businesses on best practices when employing technology has been at the forefront of his personal mandate. Kristi Tomasin is the Director of Smartmail Marketing at Canada Post. She has 20 years of sales and marketing experience & has spent the last 13 years at Canada Post working with large enterprise and mid-market marketing organizations. She helps to advance their marketing initiatives & grow their businesses through strategy and data intelligence. Kristi holds an MBA from Niagara University and an Economics degree from the University of Waterloo. Laura Sukorokoff

Laura Sukorokoff has always had a passion for the employee experience. She is a mentor and coach who enjoys helping people find their voices and bring their ideas to life.

Leon Wong

Leon Wong started Leontrepreneur Education Inc. in 2017 to help small to mid-sized businesses grow. By providing Digital Marketing services such as SEO, SEM, Social Media and Paid Ads, he has helped businesses meet their goals through unique and personalized strategies. Aside from being a Digital Marketing Strategist, Leon is also an instructor who takes joy in educating people about promoting brands online. 

With over 8 years of industry experience and having taught over 300 students, Leon and has had the opportunity to work with small, local businesses to global, million dollar franchises. He is married and is an animal lover who adopted 2 cats and owns 2 dogs.

Liisa Atva

Liisa Atva is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator (CBV). She has valued both large and small businesses and appeared as an expert witness in court on valuation matters.

Liisa has also been a CFO for companies in the manufacturing, software, mutual fund and venture capital industries. Subsequently, she spent nine years on the deal team of an investment bank specializing in structured finance transactions. She has taught at the SFU Beedie School of Business, and rewrote the UBC Sauder School of Business Real Estate Appraisal Program’s online course on business valuation.

Although Liisa has worked for a number of large businesses she has a soft spot for the smaller ones. When she was a teenager it was the owner of an auto body shop that first sparked her interest in a business career. Her focus now is writing, teaching and mentoring business owners and students.  In addition to her Canadian experience she has lived and worked in Bermuda, Australia and the USA.

Liisa has been published in The Globe and Mail, Huffington Post, The Vancouver Sun, The BC Shipping News and The Journal of Business Valuations. One of her editorial pieces was a Google pick as top business story of the day. She is the author of The Ask: How Much is a Small Business Worth? and was awarded the Canadian Institute of CBVs 2018 Communicator of the Year award.

Lorcan O’Melinn

Lorcan O’Melinn is a Chartered Professional Accountant, CPA, CGA with experience as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in the Health Care (Riverview Hospital), Kindergarten to Grade 12 (Coquitlam School District) and Post-Secondary Education (BCIT) sectors. Experienced as a senior executive and board member, he can balance social purpose objectives and goals with appropriate risk assessment and business planning.   Lorcan understands the governance role that a board member needs to play in addition to being an advisor for senior management.

He recently served on the board of the Great Northern Way Trust (whose shareholders are SFU, UBC, Emily Carr University and BCIT) in addition to being a member on the Finance Committee and the Real Estate Committee.  Key responsibilities included governance for land transactions and the Centre for Digital Media.

He retired at the end of September from his position as Vice President, Administration and Chief Financial Officer at BCIT.

He is married, with two children and four grandchildren. He is an avid cyclist and cycling advocate in addition to enjoying hiking and reading.  He has spent a number of years working as a volunteer and board member with sports associations in the Tri-Cities area.

Lynn Murad

Lynn is a Health Promotion Specialist, who’s been working on the Healthy Workplaces program as part of the Canadian Cancer Society since March 2020. She has a Masters in Public Health and an Undergraduate Degree in Biology and has been working in the Healthcare sector for the past 10 years.

Martin Bedard

Originally from Quebec City, LCol Bedard joined the CAF as an RCEME Officer in 1983 and graduated from the Royal Military College of Kingston in 1988 with a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering.

The first part of his career was focused on leading equipment maintenance organisations in Canada and abroad. Since 2010, most of his employment has been supporting in-service or acquisition program and integrated project management team at NDHQ Ottawa.

He has more than 8 years of experience working abroad with NATO nations. He is now embedded with the NATO Procurement and Support Organisation (NSPA) in Capellen, Luxembourg, which is the largest procurement agency within NATO. He is ready and motivated to assist Canadian industries getting the most of those NATO business opportunities.

Matt Turner

Matt joined Amazon in 2018 and is currently Head of Business Development for British Columbia. Matt collaborates with Trade Associations throughout BC, while also working closely with small and medium-sized businesses and providing guidance with Selling on Amazon Canada. Previously, Matt worked with some of the largest US sellers on Amazon.com and assisted them with cross-border expansion to Amazon Canada.

Matt Wong is the Co-Founder of Purpose CPA. He has over 13 years of experience leading finance teams from manufacturing to retail & ecommerce. Megan Stables

As a graduate from the Bisset School of Business at Mount Royal University, and a Chartered Professional Accountant, Megan Stables has spent over 15 years of her career providing financial leadership in the energy industry. From the large corporate world of oil and gas producers to the smaller private world of energy service companies, Megan has led teams through acquisitions and divestitures, through industry booms and industry downturns, through growth and survival.  Megan believes leadership requires clarity and accountability but not at the expense of kindness; and in 2019 became a Certified Facilitator for the Dare to Lead™ curriculum. Megan has been a volunteer for the CPA Financial Literacy Program for over 3 years and while she appreciates connecting with business leaders in the community, she also values the inspiration and energy of the local entrepreneurs and the awareness and support that this program provides in moving their businesses forward.
