Grape Escapes Wine Tours

Penticton, Thompson-Okanagan

We believe that in every wine experience, there is a story to tell. We want to share that story. It is our mission to deliver memorable experiences. Grape Escapes Wine Tours will share its passion for wine and the Okanagan through knowledgeable, friendly, enthusiastic, and certified wine guides committed to inform and inspire others to develop an appreciation of the Okanagan wine culture through education and visits to the wineries and vineyards. Also, as an Indigenous-owned business, we are very keen on the importance of integrating cultural values and traditions, including sustainability and ethical practices into our tours, as referenced by the Calls To Action #92 of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada.

People's Choice

Why do you think you should win the Premier’s People’s Choice Award?

We are a majority-owned, women-led Indigenous business operating since 2011. Our philosophy in operating is that we are a "wine discovery" tour as opposed to a "wine drinking" tour. As a result of focussing on educating and sharing our passion for wine and living in the Okanagan we have grown from 1 employee to 13 employees who are all certified Okanagan Wine Ambassadors. We have become the leader and the model of a successful tour company as demonstrated by our numerous accolades and awards. We have over 1200 five-star reviews on TripAdvisor and Google My Business, we have been inducted into the TripAdvisor Hall of Fame and have been awarded as the Best of the South Okanagan in the tour category 5 years in a row. As excellent corporate citizens, we have volunteered our services to many organizations including Kidsport, the Okanagan Granfondo, the Penticton Soupateria, and the Penticton Vees Jr. Hockey Club to name a few. We also encourage our staff members to take a day off their regular duties (and still get paid!) to volunteer their time to a local organization.
