Best Youth Entrepreneur

What motivated you to start your business and what is your vision for the future of the company?

I started Lily Lou's Aromas as a homeschooling project during the pandemic after being bullied at school. Creating a product that can help with mental health was important to me and my mom. I love being able to be creative and learn all at the same time as spending time with my family. My vision for Lily Lou's Aromas is to be the biggest candle company in the world and grow my team!

Why do you deserve to win the Best Youth Entrepreneur Award?

I would love to receive this award. I’ve thought long and hard about why I think I should and have a few different reasons. I started my business when I was 7 during the pandemic and whilst being homeschooled. I struggled in school due to being bullied both emotionally and physically so being homeschooled I thrived and really came into my personality. I’m now 9 and through growing my business I have been able to inspire so many people both big and small to chase their dreams and follow their goals. This means through my business I have to ability to impact so many and give back through my community. The second reason is the why behind choosing aromas and it is because my mom and I have this ritual of having girls night for our mental health. My mom suffers with both post partum anxiety and depression so this time is to allow us to light a candle do our skincare and relax, prioritizing filling our cup first. My aromas serve as a physical reminder to all that they should light it and make time for them. So many people tell me that they have begun to put their mental health and making physical health a priority because of meeting me and seeing my candles on a daily basis to remind them to form these habits. I’m so grateful but that’s the cause by my intentions at Lily Lou’s Aromas and now people have a been directly affected in a positive way. I want to continue to spread my story and create more positivity, speak up against bullying and inspire women to chase their dreams whilst prioritizing their mental health.
