Business Impact Award

Tell Us Your Story. What motivated you to start your business? Why are you passionate about what you do?

I came to Canada as a Caregiver in 2008, I was a Registered Nurse from the Philippines and in Saudi Arabia where I worked for 10 years before I came to British Columbia. I also, volunteered in S.U.C.C.E.S.S in Guildford area, helping new immigrants come to Canada. I have worked as a care worker in 3 different big home care companies in the lower mainland and I was involved in a big insurance company and became a Licensed Insurance Adviser. I managed to recruit 24 people to the company in as little as 4 months time. In September 2014 I decided to go with what I wanted to do most. My heart has a passion for Caregiving and taking care of seniors which is the first reason why I came to Canada. That is my passion and that's what I pursue. The most important thing that makes me feel happy is helping to make a difference in seniors lives. It feels good to make them smile even with the smallest joke or assisting with a small task. Like other people say; If you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life . And now Happy At Home is counting its 9th year, we are growing faster, stronger and hiring more staff.

Describe and demonstrate, including metrics, your community support. How do you support and uplift your community, and how do they show that support in return? Minimum 25 words, maximum 2500 characters.

Happy at Home is a small private Home Health Care business that is located in North Delta and is servicing the Lower Mainland. With the company being a local business we have had the opportunity to provide flexible hours and discounted pricing to the community.

Why do you deserve to win the Business Impact award?

Happy at Home deserves to win the Business Impact Award because we have been providing exceptional, compassionate and reliable service to our clients for 9 years. We would love to win this award on behalf of our hard working staff and clients that we serviced in the past and continue to provide service to.

Tell Us About Your Culture. How are you creating a sustainable and healthy workplace where everyone feels welcome? Provide examples of leadership you show in interactions with clients, vendors, contractors, staff and others.

We are able to provide a healthy workplace for our care workers by having our Managing Director asses the clients home to make sure it is safe and welcoming. We provide proper PPE and equipment for each and every staff member. We ensure there is a harmonized relationship between the care workers because it is easier to take care of seniors when you have a good relationship with your colleges.

People's Choice

Why do you think you should win the Premier’s People’s Choice Award?

We deserve to win the Premier's People's Choice Award because we continue to receive wonderful compliments from the clients and their family members who are more then happy with the service we have provided. We have had situations where the clients were eligible for subsidized care but they continue to have service from Happy at Home due to being extremely happy with our care workers and service.
