Mama Milk Fairy
Mama Milk Fairy makes Breastmilk & DNA Jewelry and Breastmilk Soap. With Mama Milk Fairy I help moms memorialize their breastfeeding journey by creating unique custom made Breastmilk Jewelry & DNA Keepsakes. Next to breastfeeding moms, Mama Milk Fairy also helps those who are grieving the loss of a loved one, whether that is a friend, family member or a fur baby. DNA Jewelry is a way to deal with loss, as it means so much to be able to hold something close that once belonged to a loved one. Tessa, the woman behind Mama Milk Fairy, is a mother of two and dedicated artisan who graduated from the Breastmilk & DNA Jewelry Academy. With Mama Milk Fairy I create heirloom pieces of jewelry, that are treasured for generations to come. Creating precious keepsakes is my passion and I am so proud of all the good work I can do through Mama Milk Fairy.

What motivated you to start your business? What challenges did you overcome as a Solopreneur?
My motivation to start Mama Milk Fairy was to help moms commemorate their breastfeeding journey. Those first years are a special and sentimental period and for many it is so important to memorialize that period of their life. That I can help them do that, by turning their DNA into a precious piece of keepsake jewelry, is priceless. And I do not only help breastfeeding moms commemorate their breasfteeding journey, keepsake jewelry is also a big support for someone that is grieving a loved one. Next to breastmilk, I often get asked to make keepsake jewelry with a lock of hair, cremation ashes, and even pet fur. Breastmilk and DNA jewelry is so much more than just a piece of jewelry, it is unique and precious, it has a story to tell. For some that is a happy, proud story as for others it is a story of grief. What is the same, is the deep sentimental value, a legacy piece, a heirloom piece of jewelry that is cherished forever. And this is my biggest motivation, giving you a way to hold your most precious memories close.
Why do you deserve to win the Best Solopreneur award?
With my Breastfeeding Support Group and Mama Milk Fairy I have created (and will continue to create) a community of moms that support and help each other. Winning an award would be the crown on top of all my hard work. It would mean the world to me, an acknowledgement that my work is meaningful and that I can do something I am passionate about and at the same time provide for my family.
