What motivated you to start your business and what core cause do you support?

We started our business as a partial retirement. Couldn't think of a better job then selling treats to happy customers. This past year the cause we have focused on has been on the Local Food Bank, all of our fundraising and donations have gone to them. It will most likely be our pick this year as well. With all the concerns people have right now food shortages should not be one of them.

Why do you deserve to win the Best Community Impact award?

If it wasn't for the support of the community with our new ventures these past few years and their willingness to back our sometimes out there ideas we would not have been nominated. We are simply trying to create a place the community can enjoy for a special treat with their families and friends.

We started our business as a partial retirement. Couldn't think of a better job then selling treats to happy customers. Since we opened Hunnie's we have had a summer evacuation, a summer of flooding and now a summer of lock downs. The slower tourism has not been advantageous but it provided us the time to get the much needed renovations well underway.
