What motivated you to start your business, what challenges did you overcome?
Generateagentleads erupted after we encountered several problems working with real estate sales progressional locally and all across North America. Throughout university studies at the University of British Columbia as a Psychology major, I found an interest in learning how to apply psychological principles to marketing and sales. I understood and was fascinated the world of SAAS and tech startups and I always wanted to be immersed in the space and run a company one day comprised of dozens of employees. In the beginning, we lacked startup capital to fund our growth as we were bootstrapped and remain bootstrapped til date. As a result of this, we had to do very rigorous outbound sales just to acquire our first customer base by making cold calls, door knocking and prospecting. This was all done alongside being a university student. This was definitely a struggle initially. Upon saving some growth capital after acquiring our first customer base, we faced many tech barriers as we weren't tech oriented founders as well as issues like building a sales team. Issues like cost to acquire were becoming shields in achieving profitability in conjunction with a sales team and balancing commissions.
Why do you deserve to win the Best Innovation award?
As founders, we believe that the true value to a business is through constant innovation of the product, internal processes and operations. There have been countless times when a competitor's customer comes to us simply because they didn't innovate enough. Our fast growth has been a function of our innovations and we've been growing very fast at a consistent rate. We continue to serve our customers at the highest level and bring in 50-100 customers monthly at a ticket price of 5-10K which shows the immense value we are providing. We aim to use this award to educate our customer base and the real estate university and show the accolades we have honed til date.
