Best Innovation

What motivated you to start your business, what challenges did you overcome?

Three seeds were planted which ultimately led to the founding of 360Pros: The first seed was a thought exercise 7 or 8 years ago while watching the TV show Suits. I imagined being able to look around in any direction of an office to follow the script and story of different conversations because "in real life", the story unfolds everywhere simultaneously. The second seed was 5 or 6 years ago when a friend showed me his first generation Gear VR headset. This was my first ever VR experience, and as I watched a short film trailer it took me back to that idea several years earlier. The third and most important seed was reading Kevin Kelly's book "The Inevitable" which discusses the technological forces and trends in the coming several decades. Within a month I had quit my full time job, created my first business plan and started figuring out how to do it. The goal was to capture real-world spaces and recreate them in VR environments to transport people for both entertainment and marketing. This was with zero prior technical and operational background, but just an idea and an overzealous drive that screamed 'this is that once in a lifetime fork in the road you MUST take'. What challenges did I overcome? There's way too many to list. What to focus on and where to spend most of my energy - the challenge of understanding product market fit. The challenges of crippling self-doubt when things weren't going as planned and the romance of 'the new venture' sizzle had faded. The immense challenge of sales and marketing - navigating through uncharted waters both from a product perspective as well as a lack of experience in both. Or how about the combined challenges of solely relying on the business for income, while starting a new family and raising a newborn? Overcoming these challenges was a combination of excellent support from a wonderful life-partner, the relentless motivation that having a new child brings (you HAVE to make it work no matter what), welcoming business partners and trusting them to the shared Vision and Core Values, and being in the right place at the right time (circumstance + grit and perseverance).

Why do you deserve to win the Best Innovation award?

We are not just innovating through discovering and combining previously unpaired technologies, or finding novel ways to pair solutions with specific customer problems, but we are remapping the overall process for which problems are being approached and solved. In addition to realizing our customer and company journey, each member of 360Pros realizes that growing the business is also a spiritual and self-explorative journey. We (and this is a message for the collective we) should always be striving to better ourselves productively, imaginatively, spiritually as human beings, not only obsessing with the top or bottom lines. 360Pros will always challenge the status quo when necessary, but remain organized and keep on track to a shared vision and values.

Best Youth Entrepreneur

What motivated you to start your business and what is your vision for the future of your company?

Three seeds were planted which ultimately led to the founding of 360Pros: The first seed was a thought exercise 7 or 8 years ago while watching the TV show Suits. What is my vision of the future? To create stunning photos which can be walked through, videos which can be self guided, and true-3D virtual tours which from any frame look like magazine covers.

Why do you deserve to win the Best Youth Entrepreneur award?

I believe that personal growth drives organizational growth, and flows outwards to those closest to us, and then the larger community. I haven’t always felt this way though, or perhaps only in a dormant state. By facing the struggle of Entrepreneurship honestly and humbly, I feel like I’ve tapped into something known by only those who discover it through a similar journey. However, you don’t need to be a CEO or founder or part of a company leadership team to find your way in your professional and personal careers. By learning business development from a leadership perspective, I want to inspire others so that they can grow professionally, both as leaders of an organization, or as individuals within an organization or outside of one.
