This business contributes to making the province a strong and rapidly growing innovation economy, and is creating a positive impact in their industry and community. The award is judged on the following criteria:
- Innovation: This business supports research and development to create advanced and innovative technology concepts, products, methods and services.
- Adoption: It demonstrates how the adoption of their technology has positively impacted the way organizations or industries are doing business. This impact is apparent through elements such as increases in efficiency, revenue and economic development.
- Collaboration: This business works with partners and organizations to promote the commercialization of advanced and innovative technology in BC.

Combining their construction industry experience, together with their entrepreneurial talents, Landon Sheck and Morgan Seeber developed an innovative method by which thoughtfully designed structures, that complement and enhance the users desired experience, could be created. The resulting aux box is manufactured in a controlled environment so any undesirable consequences, often associated with conventional builds, may be kept to a minimum. The best use of time and money is then ensured, providing the client with an innovative method by which to increase both the value, and usable space of their home.
Ay Lelum The Good House of Design, Nanaimo
We should be considered for the innovation category in terms of our impact in the arts, culture and history. We apply an innovative and collaborative approach to documenting Coast Salish (Snuneymuxw) history and legends from our father William Good, his and our brother Joel Good’s Traditional Coast Salish artwork, songs and Hul’q’minum language and share it through garment design, as mentored by our mother Sandra Moorhouse-Good. We combine all of these elements to create collections that are represented on the runway, offering an entire cultural experience in a current way.

Kinzoo is changing the way families communicate for the better. Sean Herman is the father of an eight-year-old daughter and a two-year-old son. The experiences his daughter had online inspired him to start Kinzoo, a kid-tech company that helps parents turn screen time into family time. Reusable Bubble Tea Cup, Vancouver
Reusable Bubble Tea Cup started out in August 2018 in Vancouver and changed the bubble tea industry forever. In a time when climate change and environmental impact is being discussed more and more frequently, the unsolvable topic that comes up again and again is the issue of single-use cups and straws. The bubble tea industry is built upon single-use plastics — plastic cup, plastic film, wide plastic straw to pierce the film. Enter the Reusable BBT Cup, which has made reusable cups in the bubble tea industry the new norm.
