Small Business BC Hosts First-Ever MyBizDay Vancouver Island Event to Celebrate Small Business Month in October

Vancouver Island ShareableOctober 13, 2015 – British Columbia: Small Business BC and The Province of British Columbia will host the first-ever MyBizDay Vancouver Island event at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre in Nanaimo on October 21, 2015.

This free full-day event happens during Small Business Month in October – a chance to recognize the tremendous contributions that small businesses make to the economy and local communities – and connects small business owners to the programs and resources that are available to entrepreneurs.

“Small business represents 98 per cent of all business in British Columbia. These businesses are critical to the economic health of every community in B.C. and we are delighted to partner with the Province of British Columbia to help strengthen small business across B.C.,” says George Hunter, CEO of Small Business BC.

MyBizDay Vancouver Island will bring together 200 local entrepreneurs, small business owners, service providers and government representatives, and feature a mix of small business education, networking and exhibits.

Topics to be covered by this year’s industry experts include:

  • Business Mapping: Developing A Smart Business Model – presented by Small Business BC
  • Financing: Fuel for Your Business – presented by Community Futures British Columbia, Futurpreneur Canada and  Women’s Enterprise Centre

  • Small Business Resources – presented by Small Business BC
  • Technology at Work – presented by Neil Squire Society
