Sandra has over 25 years experience in the staffing industry in Vancouver, British Columbia. Sandra was the Founder and President of an employment agency in Vancouver from 1986 until selling her shares in 2000.
The Miles Employment Group Ltd represents her second venture which incorporated in 2002. A Business in Vancouver 40 under 40 Achievement Award recipient and YWCA Women of Distinction Nominee, Entrepreneur Category, Sandra has volunteered countless hours to assist non-profit organizations and she has sat on many influential boards and high profile committees.
Sandra has been included in a book “Women Business Owners: The New Pioneers” launched by the Women’s Enterprise Centre in partnership with Western Economic Diversification, for Small Business Month in October 2008 and has been nominated for RBC’s Canadian Women Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2008.
Sandra was invited to participate as a Community Leader in the Minerva Foundation “Follow A Leader” program for 2009 and has participated as a mentor on the Mentor Advisory Forum for Women’s Enterprise Centre in 2010. Sandra sits on an established CEO Forum, Mackay and Associates, with the mandate to share and learn best practices with fellow CEO’s.
Sandra joined the Wedgewood Cycling Team in the 2010 Ride to Conquer Cancer from Vancouver to Seattle and collectively the team raised over $300,000 for the BC Cancer Foundation. Sandra is responsible for the strategic direction of the company.
