Clare Hamilton-Eddy is the founder of Yulu PR. She is an experienced and passionate communications strategist, having spent the past 14 years working in various roles within the media, both in Canada and the UK. With a proven track record, Clare is not afraid to challenge the status quo to ensure clients get the best possible results. She has a great team spirit and a natural aptitude for leadership and exceptional client service.
Starting out as a print reporter in the UK, she soon moved into publishing and headed up an award-winning business magazine. Her ambition took her to London where she worked in a leading consumer PR agency on global brands including Nokia, Hello Kitty and Coca-Cola. Seeking a change of lifestyle, Clare ventured across the pond to settle in Vancouver where she became vice president at a top PR agency for over five years. Here, she worked on campaigns for a range of clients, from multi-national companies to local start-ups in a mix of industries including not-for-profit, retail, tech, finance, hospitality, healthcare and education.
Clare excels at strategic planning and counsel, project management, coaching, and issues and crisis management. She has a particular interest in the not-for-profit world and has run highly successful community-based campaigns across Canada.
She has been on the board of directors for the B.C. chapter of the American Marketing Association, Women in Communications & Technology, and she currently sits on a University of British Columbia advisory committee for its digital curriculum. She also volunteers regularly at Ronald McDonald House.
A little known fact about Clare: she has played violin in front of members of the royal family.
