Small Business BC is a designated delivery partner for the Canada-B.C. Job Grant (CJG) Program. As a delivery partner, SBBC is responsible for providing small business employers support with training options, and Canada-B.C. Job Grant (CJG) applications and submissions. We are seeking two driven individuals to represent SBBC as Education Advisors responsible for advising clients on employee training and the Canada-B.C. Job Grant (CJG) Program.


  • Provides clarification on eligibility for Canada-BC Job Grant program
  • Assist employers with Canada-BC Jobs Grant application completion and submission
  • Works with clients/employers on a one-on-one basis to discuss possible training institutions
  • Leverages existing partnerships, networking bases, and ongoing communication with employers and other Canada-BC Jobs Gant stakeholders to develop innovative approaches to help clients/employers access the Grant and maximize benefit
  • Tracks metrics and provides data and reports in relation to the Canada-BC Jobs Grant program
  • Collaborate with other staff and consultancies to ensure a full suite of appropriate services is available to clients
  • Conducts awareness and educational activities
  • Provides backup and client overflow support for the Client Services & Education team, in all aspects of client services, during busy periods, breaks and staff vacations
  • Enters client contact and interaction information into SBBC’s CRM
  • Performs other job-related duties as required


  • A degree or diploma in a related field, and client interaction experience, or an equivalent blend of education and business-related experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ of experience in an advisory role relating to organizing or coordinating employee/ organizational workshops, seminars, and/or webinars
  • Experience public speaking, delivering presentations and attending industry events
  • Demonstrated experience in tracking metrics & reporting
  • Experience with working in an office environment, coordinating schedules & appointments and managing confidential material and information with discretion
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills (in-person, verbal, written, online)
  • Knowledge of current training providers
  • Strong understanding of small business practices and issues
  • Very strong computer skills overall, including MS Office, P.O.S, CRM, Adobe Connect, etc.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational skills, follow-through and ability to juggle competing priorities with limited supervision
  • Ability to work in French is considered an asset, as well as additional languages (Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese or Farsi)



  • BCGEU Level: Range 14, step 1 $1,798.61 bi-weekly (non-negotiable)

  • An additional seventy-four cents per hour (in lieu of benefits) after three months of continuous employment
